YouTube Singer Maria Aragon Featured in HTC Sensation 4G US Commercial

Maria Aragon in HTC commercial
10-year-old YouTube sensation Maria Aragon has proven she's more than a nine day's wonder. Aragon covered Lady Gaga's hit "Born This Way" at her piano earlier this year. Her elder sister uploaded the video of Aragon's performance to YouTube on Feb 16, 2011. The video has quickly become an Internet sensation and driven 28 million views in six weeks. Recently, Aragon features as a star in HTC's latest US commercial for HTC Sensation 4G for T-Mobile, which again brings her a good reputation.

The HTC Sensation 4G smartphone commercial titled "You are the next...", features real life famous people and organizations including Joshua Roman (the street artist), Surfrider Foundation (a non-profit environmental organization that aims to protect and preserve the oceans), Bamboo Bike Studio (developed the bamboo bicycle) and Maria Aragon (Born This Way cover and Internet sensation). Here is the commercial. (Download the video to your computer)

The visual commercial references some social networking languages from Twitter and FourSqure , such as "You are the next Trending Topic" and "You are the next mayor of this bar".

Aragon is at the last part of the video. She is seen being filmed by the HTC Sensation 4G smartphone as she was playing piano solo as the background music and singing lines "When I get older, I will be stronger" from K'naan's Wavin' Flag, which was Coca-Cola's promotional anthem for the South Africa 2010 FIFA World Cup.

As stated above, Maria Aragon is a 10-year-old normal girl who learns in the Isaac Brock School fifth grader. She became a darling of the people after her cover of Lady Gaga's Born This Way was posted to YouTube. After that, she appears on several US TV shows and sang a duet with Lady Gaga in Gaga's concert in Canada. Here is Aragon's cover of Born This Way, which has driven 36 million views to date.

YouTube Options for Google Chrome™ Disables In-Video Ads

YouTube is the largest video-sharing website on this planet. Chrome is one of the most popular web browser on PC. People like to watch videos on YouTube in spare time. Developers make lots of Chrome extensions for YouTube. What I want to say is a newly released Chrome extension for YouTube called "YouTube Options for Google Chrome™", which disables those annoying features on YouTube, which is very useful and awesome.

"YouTube Options for Google Chrome™" is rather powerful that it offers options for YouTube users to block in-video ads, hide comments, disable annotations, change background color of video page, set all YouTube connections to HTTPS and your preferred viewing resolution. This extension even allows users to download YouTube videos with an added link below a YouTube video.

Besides YouTube, this extension also supports some other video sites, such as Vimeo, DailyMotion, Funny or Die, etc. However, most features of this extension are developed specifically for YouTube.

You can download "YouTube Options for Google Chrome™" extension from Chrome Web Store. The latest version is 1.8.23 and was released on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. This is the link -

Note that the above version of this extension can't download YouTube videos. The full version that supports YouTube video downloading is available at the developer's site

Views of YouTube Movie Trailers Mainly Come from Advertisement

Movie trailers have become one of the most-viewed videos on YouTube. Trailer of a blockbuster can get millions of views. But the fact is that most of the these views come from paid advertising. To promote a movie, movie trailer is one of the way. There are also other ways for the promotion, such as pre-roll ads in a video or paid links. For example, trailer of Conan The Barbarian has garnered 5.5 million views. If you click the "Show video statistics" icon next to the views number, you'll find that 4.98 out of those views come from ads. As the picture shown below:
YouTube video statistics
Similarly, view count of X-Men trailer reaches 2.4 million, but nearly 2 million views are from ad. Another example is Rise of the Planet of The Apes' trailer. Its view count is 7 million, but approximately 5.8 million views can be sourced from ad views.

Not all advertisement can generate traffic, but many of them are efficient: ads on the home page, promoted videos such as teasers, skippable TrueView ads, etc. Compared with the traditional pre-roll video ads, TrueView ads can drive more traffic to the target video page.

Tip:
1.what is TrueView ad?
TrueView video advertisement allows users to skip the Ads they aren't interested in over YouTube videos. If you want to learn more about TrueView ad, you can go to this post.

Rebecca Black's Friday Music Video Removed from YouTube

Rebecca Black
It's Thursday today and tomorrow will be Friday. But this Friday we might not able to see Rebecca Black's viral music video "Friday", as the YouTube sensation was removed from the site a few hours ago. From now on, we might not be able to hear Black singing "fun, fun, fun, fun" bringing us the happy Friday on the site. What a shame!

Previously, Rebecca Black's Friday official music video was here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0. But now you open the page and get the message on the YouTube video player "'Rebecca Black – Fri…' This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black. Sorry about that."

Rebecca Black's "Friday" music video has drawn over 167 million views before its removal from YouTube. (how to download) The 14-year-old singer just signed a copyright claim and then the video was gone. This video's removal is due to the dispute between Black's family and Ark Music Factory that who own the copyright to the video. Earlier this week, ARK Music Factory, who produced the video and ran the YouTube account that hosted the video, set the video up as a $2.99 YouTube rental. Black's family got angry about this and submitted a takedown notice of the video to YouTube. After that, the video disappeared from YouTube.

According to Wikipedia:
The ownership of "Friday" is unclear. In a March 29, 2011 letter from Kelly's (Black's mother) lawyer to Ark Music, she alleged that Ark Music failed to fulfill the terms of their November 2010 agreement by not giving her the song and video's master recordings; falsely claimed Black as exclusively signed to the label; and exploited the song without permission by, for example, selling a "Friday" ringtone. While Wilson stated that Kelly "will get the masters and the song. They can have it all" and agreed that Black was not exclusive to Ark, his attorney claimed that Ark owns the copyright for the song and the November agreement is invalid.

Download The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 Trailer from YouTube

The Twilight Sage: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 PosterOfficial trailer of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 has finally arrived! The much-anticipated movie trailer premiered at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 5). As the most successful romantic-fantasy film these years, The Twilight Saga series has been a worldwide phenomenon. Before the trailer's debut, there've been a lot of pictures and fan-made videos relevant to the film flooding all over the Internet. The film will hit theaters on November 18, 2011.

The trailer copyrighted by Summit Entertainment, LLC is available on YouTube. Just in one day, the trailer has drawn 1.2 million views. You can download The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 trailer from YouTube with Leawo YouTube Downloader.

Well, it's very clearly that the Breaking Dawn trailer has unveiled the most important things that will happen in the upcoming film: Bella Swan and Edward Cullen's wedding invitation to the vampire leaders - Volturi, to their parents and to werewolf Jacob. Different feelings about the wedding as shown on their faces: Bella's mother Renée and the Volturi: happy; Bella's father Charlie: melancholy; Jacob: bursts into fury, throws the invitation card to the muddy groud and runs wildly in the rain, which is the saddest thing I saw in the trailer.
Breaking Dawn - Jacob's rage

Despite Jacob's rage, the wedding goes ahead as planned. What Twi-Hards most talked about perhaps are the broken headboard and the new couple's honeymoon, with a scenario of their martial bliss below a waterfall, which are "Steamy" as commented by the viewers.

Fight? Yes, we can also see fight scenes in the promo trailer. Fights between Bella and Edward, fights between Jacob and Edward..

Another surprise is that Bella will be pregnant! She touches her stomach and whispers "That's impossible". According to the sources, Bella will give birth to her baby girl in the upcoming Breaking Dawn Part 1 film.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is set to release on November 16, 2012.

Here is the synopsis of Breaking Dawn Part 1:

In the highly anticipated next chapter of the blockbuster The Twilight Saga, the new found married bliss of Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) and vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) is cut short when a series of betrayals and misfortunes threatens to destroy their world.
After their wedding, Bella and Edward travel to Rio de Janeiro for their honeymoon, where they finally give in to their passions. Bella soon discovers she is pregnant, and during a nearly fatal childbirth, Edward finally fulfills her wish to become immortal.

But the arrival of their remarkable daughter, Renesmee, sets in motion a perilous chain of events that pits the Cullens and their allies against the Volturi, the fearsome council of vampire leaders, setting the stage for an all-out battle.

The suspenseful and deeply romantic Breaking Dawn continues the epic tale of supernatural fantasy and passionate love that has made The Twilight Saga a worldwide phenomenon.

YouTube is making progress everyday. The video site constantly launches new features to video viewers and publishers to make it a better place for video sharing. Last week, YouTube launches the BoxOffice channel for Indian people to watch free blockbusters.

Previously, there've already been a dedicated Indian movies channel available on YouTube. Different from the old movie channel, the "BoxOffice" channel newly launched today serves Indian people with the latest high-definition movies for free. The first movie on the channel is the latest hit "Band Baaja Baaraat".

The "BoxOffice" will stream one premium movie a month and features other popular movies from the YouTube catalogue of movies which includes over 1500 titles including regional language films. The new channel is available for only Indian users, so other countries' IP will be blocked from viewing the movie content.

The "BoxOffice" movie channel is ad-sponsored. Vendors who sponsor the channel have the channce to showcase their YouTube channel videos, promos and campaigns.

Gautam Anand, Director Content Partnerships for YouTube Japan-APAC is optimistic with the initiative and said:

We wish to create a destination for users which is easily discoverable and also help our content partners get more viewers for their premium content. With over 48 hours of content being uploaded on YouTube every minute, this is our attempt to curate premium and exclusive content which our users enjoy. This initiative also opens up a new window of opportunities for marketers to utilize the platform and engage the YouTube community.

YouTube Editor Launches Creative Commons License for Better Video Sharing and Remixing

Good news! YouTube launches an amazing feature for video creators today.

Stace Peterson, Software Engineer of YouTube made an announcement earlier today in a post of YouTube Official Blog unveiling that the video site launches a new license for user-created videos called "Creative Commons", which gives YouTube users the right to share and remix videos marked with the new license.

What does it mean? Generally, we can directly use part of or the whole videos marked with Creative Common license in our own videos. The Creative Common-license videos can be found in YouTube Editor CC tab section. The link is http://youtube.com/editor.
YouTube editor Creative Commons videos

I found a YouTube video introducing the new Creative Common license. Here it is and you can download it with Leawo YouTube Downloader.

It's really a good news for mashup video creators such as DJ Earworm, the man who made the "Mashup of Top 25 Billboard Hits" video. As it offers users a convenient way to make their own pop videos from others' and don't have to worry about the copyright issues.

So far there are totally about 10,000 Creative Commons-licensed videos in the library, which are established by YouTube, C-SPAN, Public.Resource.org, Voice of America, Al Jazeera and others. Just feel free to remix them to your own video projects.

According to Stace Peterson's post, there are something more about the Creative Commons license videos:

1. Videos incorporated with Creative Commons license content will automatically show the source videos' titles underneath the video player.

2. You are permitted to create Creative Commons-licensed videos so that other YouTubers can remix or reuse your works in their projects. To do so, just choose the 'Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)' option on the upload page or on the Video Description page.

That's all for the Creative Commons license. Have a nice weekend:)

Enjoy YouTube 3D Videos on NVIDIA 3D Vision machines in Firefox Web Browser

Nvidia 3D VisionYouTube has been working on 3D video streaming for a long time. I remember that last July, YouTube declared that it would fully support 3D video streaming in the next 12 months. Now the prediction becomes true. Today, Nvidia and Mozilla officially announced that they begin to support 3D HTML5 YouTube video streaming on desktop machines equipped with Nvidia 3D Vision hardware. Currently, web browsers don't support this new feature except Mozilla Firefox 4; and there have been thousands of 3D videos available on YouTube. From now on, you can enjoy videos in theater-quality and full-resolution 3D on YouTube on your laptops or PCs.

Several things are needed before you experience the stereoscopic 3D on YouTube, they are:

1. NVIDIA 3D Vision-equipped desktop machines
2. latest NVIDIA GeForce® drivers (version 275 or above)
3. Mozilla Firefox web browser (version 4 or above)
4. 3D glasses
5. Check the HTML5 option on the player of a YouTube 3D video.

Now check the 3D YouTube video below and tell us how do you like the new 3D experience.
And don't forget you can download YouTube videos with this Leawo Free YouTube Downloader.
