YouTube Options for Google Chrome™ Disables In-Video Ads

YouTube is the largest video-sharing website on this planet. Chrome is one of the most popular web browser on PC. People like to watch videos on YouTube in spare time. Developers make lots of Chrome extensions for YouTube. What I want to say is a newly released Chrome extension for YouTube called "YouTube Options for Google Chrome™", which disables those annoying features on YouTube, which is very useful and awesome.

"YouTube Options for Google Chrome™" is rather powerful that it offers options for YouTube users to block in-video ads, hide comments, disable annotations, change background color of video page, set all YouTube connections to HTTPS and your preferred viewing resolution. This extension even allows users to download YouTube videos with an added link below a YouTube video.

Besides YouTube, this extension also supports some other video sites, such as Vimeo, DailyMotion, Funny or Die, etc. However, most features of this extension are developed specifically for YouTube.

You can download "YouTube Options for Google Chrome™" extension from Chrome Web Store. The latest version is 1.8.23 and was released on Tuesday, June 21, 2011. This is the link -

Views of YouTube Movie Trailers Mainly Come from Advertisement

Movie trailers have become one of the most-viewed videos on YouTube. Trailer of a blockbuster can get millions of views. But the fact is that most of the these views come from paid advertising. To promote a movie, movie trailer is one of the way. There are also other ways for the promotion, such as pre-roll ads in a video or paid links. For example, trailer of Conan The Barbarian has garnered 5.5 million views. If you click the "Show video statistics" icon next to the views number, you'll find that 4.98 out of those views come from ads. As the picture shown below:
YouTube video statistics
Similarly, view count of X-Men trailer reaches 2.4 million, but nearly 2 million views are from ad. Another example is Rise of the Planet of The Apes' trailer. Its view count is 7 million, but approximately 5.8 million views can be sourced from ad views.

Not all advertisement can generate traffic, but many of them are efficient: ads on the home page, promoted videos such as teasers, skippable TrueView ads, etc. Compared with the traditional pre-roll video ads, TrueView ads can drive more traffic to the target video page.

Tip:
1.what is TrueView ad?

Rebecca Black's Friday Music Video Removed from YouTube

Rebecca Black
It's Thursday today and tomorrow will be Friday. But this Friday we might not able to see Rebecca Black's viral music video "Friday", as the YouTube sensation was removed from the site a few hours ago. From now on, we might not be able to hear Black singing "fun, fun, fun, fun" bringing us the happy Friday on the site. What a shame!

Previously, Rebecca Black's Friday official music video was here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CD2LRROpph0. But now you open the page and get the message on the YouTube video player "'Rebecca Black – Fri…' This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Rebecca Black. Sorry about that."

Rebecca Black's "Friday" music video has drawn over 167 million views before its removal from YouTube. (how to download) The 14-year-old singer just signed a copyright claim and then the video was gone. This video's removal is due to the dispute between Black's family and Ark Music Factory that who own the copyright to the video. Earlier this week, ARK Music Factory, who produced the video and ran the YouTube account that hosted the video, set the video up as a $2.99 YouTube rental. Black's family got angry about this and submitted a takedown notice of the video to YouTube. After that, the video disappeared from YouTube.

According to Wikipedia:
The ownership of "Friday" is unclear. In a March 29, 2011 letter from Kelly's (Black's mother) lawyer to Ark Music, she alleged that Ark Music failed to fulfill the terms of their November 2010 agreement by not giving her the song and video's master recordings; falsely claimed Black as exclusively signed to the label; and exploited the song without permission by, for example, selling a "Friday" ringtone. While Wilson stated that Kelly "will get the masters and the song. They can have it all" and agreed that Black was not exclusive to Ark, his attorney claimed that Ark owns the copyright for the song and the November agreement is invalid.
